oh, we're not a cult, we're a guild ... seriously though, going slow and not expecting too much too soon is the right way. to go. Each step is a discovery process in itself. if something doesn't seem right, stop and try something different.

Welcome! Been doing this for less than a few weeks. Shave ready razors are this biggest necessity IMO. Without one its a frustrating and potentially painful experience. If need be locate the classified section and the use the hone services listed there. I have and it made all difference. Go slow. Nice thing about this hobby/obsession is one always gets to try again tomorrow.

Hi and welcome. Good idea to have a good read through the library as much of what you need to know is in there. Go slow and good luck with your shaves. Any questions feel free to ask

I'm OK with the "not a cult" thing, it has some creepy connotations...
And guild is pretty acurate with the whole Novice/apprentice work your way up thing...
But could I get something else? Semi-Secret society? Gang? (Blood in, Blood out...) Bandaid of Brothers?
It is some of the very best of what the Net is all about...welcome, you are amongst friends...

Just to chime in on what everyone else said(including yourself), take it slow and have fun. If you have or can imagine you have a moustache and goatee, that is the hardest area to learn for a lot of guys. Going around the bulb of the chin was a real P.I.A. for me till I had some practice. Dealing with the swirling growth patterns of the neck is a plague for some guys. Below the jawline, I disregard growth patterns and just shave down one pass and up one pass. Have fun with it!

Ok. I'm here. Do we need to send in a search party? Shaved last night and no reply today?
We need to start up a "shave and rescue" unit.
