    Welcome to SRP!

There is a ton of information in the Library, including a great beginner's section. Feel free to ask questions if you can't find something.
The most important thing for a beginner is to get a professionally honed razor - just because it says "shave ready" doesn't mean that it is "face ready"

Hi and welcome. Cris had said it. Check out the library and make sure that it is shave ready. Many sell shave ready razors but few actually are. If unsure just ask and we will point you in the right direction. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

Hi, and welcome to SRP Scott!

I had the pleasure of visiting your fine city earlier and if your welcome here is half as warm as mine was to Savannah, I think you'll like it.

The surest way to encounter failure and frustration is to start off with a blade that is not shave-ready. I can't emphasize enough how much I agree with Cris' point above. When I started I had a thoroughly miserable time for months with what turned out to be a crappy edge, and having it honed by a pro made for a completely different experience. It is well worth the cost to get your razor honed by a pro if it was already. I don't know if there is anyone honing in SAvannah, but if not, you'll find plenty of options in the Members Services section of the classifieds here.

Just a local heads-up: there's a Savannah company called Prospecter Co who make a couple of my favourite aftershaves. If you haven't already, I'd recommend checking them out. It's always nice to have someone local like that.

    Prospector Co. | Grooming

(I have no affiliation with them - just like their stuff)

    Good luck

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I recently went to prospector for the first time, no idea how I missed out on it before just recently. They are proud of their stuff but it's about time to replace my soap so I'm gonna go there. Thanks for the welcome.
