Thanked: 10WOW
I went back and forth on the SE for years. A coupe weeks ago I went for it. I didn't have any expectations other then I wanted an affordable option for a daily chore. What I got was so unexpected. To me a shave as something to just get done. It didn't matter if I was shaving around a goatee just leaving a moustache or shaving my entire face and scalp. It was a chore to get done.
What I ended up with is a change in lifestyle. Shaving is a high point to my day. I find myself looking forward to it. I would shave a couple times a day but my beard isn't heavy enough to justify it.I can't believe that what started as a way to save a buck turned into so much more.
It's only been a few days. I have had one serious cut a couple nicks, and a bit of a rash but I can't believe how satisfying and relaxing the simple act of shaving can be.

Thanked: 116Yeah it only saves money if you limit yourself to reasonable items I'm five years and 30 straights in but I still have spent less than a 12 months cartridges budget. Granted, I don't have 9/8 wedges or Filarmonicas.

Flatire67,
I shave when I get back from work, and find it to be an Oasis of Peace
All the crap and rubbish from the day just disappears during the shave, leaving me a in a very fine frame of mind : Bliss
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

Yep! Between the boss, the moneybags, and the rest, shaving is about the only peace I get around here. Save money? Perhaps; but there is a relationship between ROI and RAD and I did not begin to see the former until the latter receded and I suspect that is only a brief trend. All those brushes, creams and different grinds and did I mention the HarrtSteel with it's interchangeable scales that recently caught my eye? Like you; what started out as a quest for a cheap and consistent alternative for 'the chore' ended up getting me stranded in a new hobby and to be honest, I ain't lookin to get rescued. Welcome aboard
