Okay, I just did several practice runs, with the last being VERY productive. I used Cremo (which I did not expect to produce much lather), and 5 drops of glycerin, the little bit of water I had sitting on top of my soap for a few minutes, and then I swirled my Omega boar brush (new - I do have a somewhat tired badger) on my Proraso soap, then went to down on the mixture in my bowl. I worked it for probably three minutes. It started off more foamy, but as I continued my vigorous whipping it became a nice thick and creamy whip. I was quite happy with it. Now, I wasn't ready to shave. I will do that tonight, using this cream procedure.

Update: I did the same routine, and had the same success with a nice uberlather. My shaving still needs lots and lots of practice, but getting better each time.
