I would say that is a good start. Can't go wrong with SRD IMO.

I think that is a sound choice. The dovo best is a nice razor as well. I miss mine

I started out with a Ralf Aust 5/8 and Latigo strop from SRD. No regrets.

That'll work. I have one and love it (the razor). I want that strop, but have the SRD modular paddle strop, so can't rationalize it (yet).

I agree that you can't go wrong with SRD.

i would add to get crox spray. this way you can hold off on the free honing for when you really need it.

i started with this razor and i hurt the edge pretty fast. i just used the crox to get it back to shave ready. haven't used the certificate yet.

I think you made a great choice. I especially think you did well by ordering the 3" strop. This is a great thing to get in to and by choosing quality from SRP you cannot go wrong. I hope you have a great time with it, and please go slow at first. Just take your time. I made a suggestion the other day to a fellow to, 1 take his time and 2 let his wife know when he was shaving so she doesn't holler your name out and startle you, or sling the door open and startle you that way. Anyway I hope you have a great time with it and please say how the Faust does. I have wanted one for a whlie but.... anyhow, be safe.
