I'm glad that you are enjoying a slightly muted point. It can help while you are learning.

Congratulations on receiving that SE Heirloom Razor

Blades are still available, enjoy using it. While I cut my shaving teeth on a DE dad's next razor was a SE and then sadly he went with the dreaded electric razor
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

The muted point helps a lot and I am enjoying the shaves with the straight. Still using the John Williams, with the Ralf Aust waiting till honing time (though I did give it a trial run). I must be doing things right (stropping, and shaving), as still getting a good shave and we are 3 months into it, shaving daily (or 5-6 times a week anyways). I'm still using the same strop as well, so all's looking good so far.

I believe that the Heirloom is a Schick Injector SE (standard black handle). I cleaned and polished it up as it was looking pretty dingy. Don't worry, I'm not giving up on the Straight.
