OP (original poster metulburr) this is what PMs are for. I certainly understand the frustration of waiting for the mail and being upset, but I'd suggest you not call out a charity provider over what they might (or in this case sent you more and better of) sent you in the public forum. Excuse me, but "grow up" (internet wise), my friend.
Just call me Harold

Guys -- I apologize if I misunderstood, but I read Metalburrs post as "what did you send me, broken razors? and BTW the USPS messed it up to boot, and I was ONLY suggesting that he say to his "gifter" privately, "what was I supposed to get vs. what I got.
Back me out of this conversation. I apologize to anyone whom I offended. No offense intended.Just call me Harold

We'll any way you now know what an edge feels like , so don't hone your own until you learn to shave , in about six months or so you might be there, tc.

Thanked: 480It looks like I missed a bunch of stuff between the start of this post, and the end here, but what ever the problem is, Metulburr can ask for my assistance in getting things in order.
I can meet up with you Mr Burr, in the Binghamton area if you like, and assess your equipment, and provide input as needed.
Just give the word and help is on the way.

Glad the razors I sent all arrived. If nothing else, use the shavette as a backup for while you're learning to strop. I had to send mine for honing (to @cudarunner) after a pretty short period of time while I was learning because my stropping wasn't good enough to maintain. I used to get around 30 days between honings when I started, now I'm up to almost 3 months with my most recent.
