Left Hand, Right Hand coordination.
Guess I am good at dumb questions. I have read and watched countless blog and videos on the subject of using a 2 hand shave. I am beginning to get this down. I am curious as to different users opinions on this. I have found that a 2 hand shave does help tremendously when getting odd angles of face, However, I have seen over and over again that you are suppose to use right hand on right side of face and left hand on left side of face. I have found it is much easier to see what I am doing in the mirror if I use opposing hand to face coordination, that is to say left hand to shave right side of my face and visa versa, because if I use right on right my hand blocks my view of what I am doing. Am I the only one that has done this? Is it wrong to do this way? Any suggestion on this hand to face coordination?

Thanked: 580I go XTG left hand on right side of face, and vice versa. It is a bit of an art to see what you are doing at the start, but basically, whatever works. Watched a lot of vids when I began, and no two men shaved exactly the same way. Best of luck.

You will probably find one hand is enough later on because you will quit trying to watch every shave stroke in the mirror after a while. As for me I think I am pretty good with my off hand but I can't rinse my razor as well and I fear damaging it. I only practice this off hand mess when I can really concentrate on what I am doing .

Thanked: 220Whatever way works best for you. I've seen some odd ways men use a straight. I personally use left hand for left side of my face, and right hand for right. You can train yourself to do it any way you want, it's just "time on the tools".

As others have said, it's all about the reps and what works for you.
For me - WTG is left hand left side and right hand right side.
XTG & ATG is left hand right side and right hand left side.
Chin is left hand (my dominant) for WTG and XTG right side of chin.
The best thing for you is the thing that works for you.

After a while you won't have to look very much in the mirror. But the important thing is that it works for you. If it works, it's not wrong.
I use my right hand for my right side vice versa. However I use the opposing hand on the neck for the ATG pass.

Thanked: 228You will find your own method that works best for you eventually. For me some sections on the opposite side I can do better with the same side hand and finish with the opposite hand.

Thanked: 14I like my same hand for the side of my face, but opposite hand on the mustache and neck. It's whatever you're comfortable with.

Not a single brain cell in my body trusts my left hand with something sharp.... Not sure if it's my Dyslexia or what but I do it all single handed and make do
