Thanked: 1First Croox Application
I have to comment on what a fantastic resource SRP is. It is a daunting task to learn the very basics of str8 shaving even the most fundamental question as in what equipment other than the str8 is required. For instance, early on in my research, I wanted to know if a strop would be all I would need to maintain my razor. I browsed the forums and quickly found a thread with the general heading I was looking for and in minutes I understood the difference between applying croox paste to the cloth section of the strop and balsa wood with diamond spray.
I went the croox paste route, watched Lynn's video to see how to apply it to the cloth and blade, and decided to apply it to my razor after my first 6 shaves. It was getting pretty rough around my chin area, I have a heavier than average beard.
Wow what a difference that makes. My shave this morning was amazingly smooth, I got pretty much a fusion quality shave on my first pass. By the time I finished XTG and ATG, it was the closest shave I have ever had. I now have money being set aside for my 12k, lapping stone and stand, soon I will be completely self sufficient.
I'm sure the comparisons have already been made many times over but SRP is a great substitute for getting the ins and outs of str8 shaving without spending years watching and learning from your father.

Hello, and welcome aboard!! All I can say is to take slow, and listen to the advise that the knowledgeable people here have to say!! Everybody's face, and hair is different so not everything is going to work for you. Find out what works for you and stick with it. Do not try to many things at once so you know what works, and what does not work!! I started shaving with a straight in January of this year, and I still think of myself as a newbie, and I am enjoying every part of the journey!! Here's to many great shaves!!
We have no control of what other people do or say to us, but we have control to how we REACT !! GOD BLESS
