Blade hungry
So i have had my first shave with the kamisori razor, it was good i liked it, at least i did not cut myself to ribbons.
As i said in my first post i must have a western razor. So i have been looking all over the sites for one and to be honest i wanted something rugged.
I nearly settled on a hart razor they look really nice...but then i came across a Max Sprecher custom and for me that was the rugged but yet sleek looking razor that i was looking for. Believe me i did not even scroll down the the whole page as soon as i saw it i just knew i had to have it. So i was just wondering what you guys think about max's razors? Cheers.

Hi & welcome to SRP. You will find a wealth of knowledge on here. Max builds & restores great razors & is well know on here for it. Once you get you a straight you mainly need to know how to strop right now if you don't know yet. When you get that down you might even want to learn to hone which you can learn here on the forum. Also don't practice honing with a shave ready razor. Wait until it won't shave smooth anymore. You may want to buy a second razor just in case you need to send one out to be professionally honed. Do you have a brush, a shaving mug & shaving soap? You will need those as well. If you plan on buying a new straight, buy one from Straight Razor Designs. Lynn, the owner & founder of this forum is also part owner of SRD & if you buy the straight razor kit with a strop, he will hone the razor to make sure it is shave ready, something that other vendors claim to do but don't. If you just buy a straight razor He might hone it as well but I know for sure when he sells the kits, he hones the razors. Lynn is a fantastic guy & will help you out if you have any questions but if you ask questions on here, there are many knowledgable members who will be more than happy to answer them for you so feel free to ask anything or comment on anything.
Good luck & have fun on here!

Thanked: 3795Lynn hones all of SRD's razors. It doesn't matter if a strop is purchased.

To answer the OP,s question, yes Max,s razor are well thought of and from my experience one of the nicer grinds and super quality. Mine had an incredible edge when I received it, plus very well balanced, you can't go wrong with a Max Sprecher razor Tc
