If they're smart they'll know not to fight around shaving-sharp razors, but at that point I'll be in a box and couldn't care less

just keep away from Boar hair. They work but not worth it. Badger, what you will find in quality brushes is what you will look for. Pure Badger or the more expensive silver tip badger is great. The silver tip badger will be worth it, it will produce a great lather and feel nice, but a Pure Badger is what I have and I love it. It's like the difference in a Honda or a Lexus, a Chevy or a Cadillac.
A fool flaunts what wisdom he thinks he has, while a wise man will show that he is wise silently.

Your a definite keeper LOL.
Remember he is just a mere Male, and like most of us we don't take to subtle hints or even very direct hints for that matter, so if there is something you want tell him exactly what you want, that way you might actually get it or something very close anyway LOLSaved,
to shave another day.

Thanked: 1160Not that much really. A Boar brush is a slight bit more exfoliating but I find my Semogues to be quite nice to use. They have a break in time but I did not find that any big deal either and it just got better with each use. I tell you again though Miss. I seriously would contact Straight Razor Designs with all your questions and needs. The reason is this. Lynn Abrams founded this website and knows his stuff when it comes to all things shaving. Most people who come to this site spend a good amount of time learning what your trying to learn in a short amount of time.Yes there are many good vendors here and I am not trying to undermine them but, you will find hundreds of opinions here and when it comes to wet shaving, asking what's better from brushes to razors to aftershaves and soaps can get not only bewildering but it's like asking one hundred people what the best flavor of ice cream is....you couldn't know till you try them yourself and that my dear takes a lot of time. You want to get your loved one something nice, ask the man who started all of this. He truly will help you out and can answer your questions in a way that an expert and business owner can. Then after the dust has settled, I would suggest sticking around with SRP and learning the world of wet shaving at leisure(we even have a ladies corner here believe it or not) and Boyfriend should join us as well as you can clearly see what a friendly lot we are. Just in case here is a link for those boar brushes ..Semogue Shaving Brushes not all boar brushes are the same also. Semogues are known for not shedding or smelling when wet as is characteristic with other brands. Again this is why I urge you to speak to Lynn. Sorry if I have rambled on but, I just want to see you get your BF something nice and you do not necessarily have to spend top dollar to get a quality kit. And that is also not suggesting cheapness. Straight Razor Designs is shown on this website as one of the main Banners for vendors. Cheers
