Thanked: 0Problems with my stoping technique
Hi
I am using Dovo strop for now (till I will get Tony strops)
and I am kind of new in that, I have read a lot and saw much of the things on youtube but still it is a little hard for me
The problem is that I feel like the strop is moving sometimes - it is hard for me to keep it real straight, and also the main problem is that I fell like the edge of the blade is "lifting" of the strop, particular when I am doing the "return" from the far side of my body to near my bodt with the razor
Can someone please give me some tips on how to improve my technique with stroping?

I'm also very much a newbie, but I've had good luck listening for the sound of the edge on the strop. I have to turn off the exhaust fan in the bathroom to allow me to listen for it, but it seems to be working for me.

Start off really slow and concentrate on keeping the blade flat on the strop. Soon the motions will become normal and fluid fore you, and you will be able to do it quickly without much thought. Muscle memory is a wonderful thing.

Thanked: 369How is your strop mounted? It's best to use a firm, strong mount such as a screw eye into a wall stud, or into a wooden cabinet under the sink, if available. Then attach your strop directly to the screw eye. Preferably with the spring clip that comes with many razor strops.

Thanked: 0Well
Now it has been improved a little bit
I have put a nice cord into the stell ring in the end of the strop, then tied it to my bath door knob, seem nicely (I prefer a nail in the wall, but still don't want to stuck things in my bath)
But, when rolling the razor, it is kind of strange, I don't have the "feeling" if it is on the strop or not when my hand is far away from my body, because I can't see it well when the blade is not facing my face (but the back is), and not sure when it sit ok and when not
