Apologies, don't you hate it when people give you wrong advice on the Internet? 😟
At least I do.
Correction:
German Herold loom and hanging strops are typically around 40 mm wide (1 5/8" ).
US strops like SRD are available in 3".
While it was correct to say that German strops like Dovo and Herold tend to be narrower than many US strops, I got the measurement conversion from mm to inch wrong.
(Some stuff you should just not try doing when you are tired, far away from home in a hotel room.)

The Illinois 827 is an excellent strop. There are quite a few who use it on a daily basis.

Thanked: 0OK going with the Illinois. Wife is being nice and getting me a new Best badger brush. Not a silvertip but a definite upgrade from the cheap Boar brush that came with the Walgreens kit. She is also getting me the Col Conk Variety 4 Pack soap. Merry Christmas to me! Oh and she got me a new First stage HOG D2 reg that I am going diving with on the 19th and 20th.
Oh and SRD does not deal on Amazon as I found out. Smallflower is the one that is selling the SRD strops. Oh well. Thanks for the help everyone.
