    Default Razor stropping

I'm sure this has come up before. What do you guys do for stropping? For instance I strop pre shave. About 30 on the webbing and 50 round trips on the leather. Shave, then when I'm done, I strop again 30 and 50 after I clean of the razor. The next time I shave I go through this routine again. The razor I use is Dovo full hollow.

Stropping post shave is a good way to clean, (on linen or nylon) and polish (leather) the bevel and edge. But, either before shaving or post shaving is good enough.

Do use the Linen, nylon or canvas to keep the leather clean.

Strop slowly, keep the spine on the strop at all times and use lite pressure, stop then flip. Do not put pressure on the edge, or you will roll the edge, 1 stroke can ruin the edge.

Proper stropping will keep you shaving, a keen edge a long, long time.

Before the shave, I strop 10-15 laps on linen or canvas or webbing and then 50 on leather.

After the shave, I strop 5 laps on a hanging newspaper strop lightly impregnated with mineral oil. This both cleans and oils the bevel and edge.

30 on linen and 50 on leather before the shave
30 on linen and 30 on leather after the shave
Sometimes I do more before the shave and sometimes I do less after the shave.

Only have a poor mans leather strop from Whipped Dog, 60 - 80 before and 40 after, I will wipe the blade down with a towel and then toilet paper thoroughly before going to the leather after use. After honing I do about 80 on kangaroo tail set on balsa wood between each progression, again I make sure that the previous abrasive is thoroughly cleaned off with tissue then micro fibre then strop on roo.
A good lather is half the shave.

I do 30 give or take 10 on felt/linen and then 60 on leather only before shaving. Never had the urge to strop post shave.

    20-25 linen
    50-60 leather before,
15 linen and 30 leather after.
A dab of mineral oil on the blade and spine, into storage.

I do 10 on linen with CrOx, 50 on clean flax, then 80 0n latigo leather. All pre shave. Post shave, I wipe and dry well on a towel. Works for me.
