Question Does the "edge" matter ?

    Hello
I see some times razors with square end, or round end, or semi round and so on
Is it matter? or is it just a matter of taste?
When it comes to shaving or honing or stropping, does it matter?

The point is partially for aesthetics, but spike points do allow for more precision if you're maintaining a goatee, a moustache or shaped sideburns. Other than that, it's a matter of aesthetic preference.

The only thing I would add is that for a beginner a true spike point is more of a challenge. There are many things a beginner has to concentrate on. With a spike you always have to be aware of how your holding that razor relative to the spike and your face because if you don't that spike will get you. Other than that its just a style thing and they are easier for precision shaving.

Spikes are probably better form trimming around
a goatee of along sideburns. Other than that, it's
just aesthetics. Also as indicated, when using a
spike, be aware of the corner.
