Finally jumped in the deep end. Been using a SR for a week now.
While I've collected several SRs so far, I finally got around to having one restored and honed. I've been using my Wade and Butcher for about a week now and all I can say is I wish I'd done it sooner. This razor is superb. A weeks worth of shaves and I've only had a couple of small nicks and those came only after the 3rd or 4th shave when I started to go a little faster than I had been going. Got a little over confident I reckon. I slowed it back down and no nicks since. I'm having a little difficulty maneuvering around my goatee and figuring out the best direction to go on my neck but I'll get it down in time I'm sure. I have several other SRs I plan on having honed soon but I'll stick with my W&B until I get it down a little more. I can see all of my DEs gathering dust. Sorry boys...

Congratulations
You will get better but you have already learned a valuable lesson: If you don't concentrate and keep your eye on the blade, bad things will happen.

Thanked: 5I only use my SR when I've got the time, usually this means weekends. I really am not yet proficient enough after about 30 shaves to pick up the pace. It has, however, made using my DE seem really easy!
