If you decide on a new razor. I would purchase the 1937 Thiers-Issard from SRD ASAP. They sell out fast. I have a Theirs- Issard Spartacus and it's one of my best shaving razors. A new Dovo would be my last choice. I have Dovo's also but I prefer Theirs-Issard.

Thanked: 0Perfect, thanks guys!
Think I'll order that 1937 now. Sounds like a good choice (and I'm assuming the half hollow is better for a first straight). I'm never opposed to buying used things, but I prefer it when I know what to look for and whatnot. Also, as this is a bit of a gift to myself, I would be annoyed if I got something with issues. I'm seeing it as a chance to create a razor with history for someone else in the future.

2/8 3/8 & 5/8 razors
"we are now stocking the famous ‘Special Coiffeur’ razor by Thiers-Issard. Featuring a nicely-etched blade, this lightweight razor is a great introduction into straight razor shaving generally and the world of TI razors in particular! "
