Well another troll has come into the light and didn’t turn to stone!

I had my first straight razor shave today and while I didn’t need stitches,
I was not aware of the multiple personalities that comes to light during the first effort with a straight razor.

I was thrilled to see spa guy, the hot towels and special touches to make the experience enjoyable.

I was less thrilled to see shaky guy take over as the blade hesitated before first contact.

I was even less thrilled to see careless guy try to overcompensate for shaky guy.

Economy of movement became my watch phrase.

Well I listened to Tony Miller’s tip on keeping it simple for the first shave and ended on a good note with only a couple of nicks; nothing needing a styptic pencil just yet, and a fine start to the learning curve.

I want to thank everyone for their efforts on this forum to assist newbs like I get enough information to make educated choices in this adventure.

Thanks
