Can anyone tell me anything about this razor?
I've just started trying my hand at restoring razors on my own. I won a bid on eBay for several blades and in the collection was this one that has "Roberts Warranted" stamped on the tang and I can't find anything about the manufacturer and I have never seen this shape of blade. I was going to start working on trying to bring this blade back, but I want to try and find out a little more about it first. I still have plenty others to work on until then and I was hoping someone out here might have a wealth of knowledge. Thanks!

Thanked: 4827All I can say for sure is it is really old and in what appears to be pretty good condition. Likely from somewhere in the early 18's but according to the above post not super early 18's

Thanked: 1184Nice stub tail. Early razors had single names on them . Greaves (nothing else) Wostenholm (nothing else). You pretty much knew where they came from just by that :<0) The Warranted was used during a certain time frame. It will take 1 of our history guru's to hit this nail on the head.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thank you all for the info! What sort of shapes are used for scales on these? What I Google all seemed to be very straight, with very little curves. Is this typical or can you also find these scaled with a more traditional scale shape? I think the blade is really cool but when I saw the scales with them, I thought they looked kinda boring, IMHO. Thoughts?
