Thread: Calling all shave masters.

Keep the spine on the strop and don't apply pressure toward the edge, use the weight of the razor only and let speed come with time. Then you should be fine stropping. Lots of YouTube examples too.
We have a local place that sells razors and does honing in Denver. But they don't shave with straights, so I don't trust them. I'm new here too, but been around enough to know sharp, razor sharp and shave ready are all very different things. If you don't confirm with a shave test, it isnt shave ready.
