Even nobody likes and uses Arko other than barbers, low-budget users and die-hard nostalgia fans. Interesting stuff.

Realy ARKO seems to be pretty popular here in the states.. at least shave reviews and you tube videos are plentiful for it here

I switched last semester from engineering to building construction. Just was accepted into Virginia Tech, 2 more years. I'm 25, and a USMC veteran, so my school is all paid for.

When a product like Arko is readily available locally and cheap like borscht that can be a problem. It has no alure/panache and something more expensive, preferably foreign, is always better. Never mind that it just plain works well or barbers would not use it no matter how cheap it was. Funny how that works.

True statement BobH hence we here seem to be enthralled with it...mainly because it works...

Funny Bob....I have 3 sticks because I like it so much (and I think one lasts a year), BUT I HAD (SAD?) to get two Palmolive sticks from overseas. If my parents, who lived through the Depression knew I had to have Palmolive soap as if it were rare, they would have called me an idiot!

Ah, Palmolive shave sticks, another pedestrian product that just plain works well and won't set you back a fortune. It should not be rare, Colgate Palmolive just don't sell it in North America anymore for some reason. I used to buy Palmolive shave cream not that many ears ago locally.

I don't think anyone who has lived through the "Great Depression" would call anyone an idiot for buying a product that works well and won't set you back much price wise. I think they would reserve that view if they found out how much we pay for things like MdC and the like.

Just waiting on a care package from England with a dozen Palmolive shave sticks in it. I could easily get by nicely with just Arko or Palmolive shave sticks and not have my shaving suffer from poor lather.

I just ordered a dozen Arko sticks off amazon for $13 and change. A little over a $1 a stick. I've been using a tub for months and there is hardly a dent in it.
I guess my grandchildren can finish it off. They will have plenty of razors and other gear to go around .
