Thanked: 154That's really cool that your long-time barber gave you some of the tools of his trade. The strop looks really nice. The stone looks like silicon carbide. Don't be too concerned about it not being flat; it's not as important as those on this forum would lead you to believe.

Thanks. I've sent them all off to be honed now. There was something else on the tang that I couldn't make out. I'll look under a magnifying glass when it has been returned. Seemed in quite good condition, I can't remember seeing any rust. What numbers should I be looking out for?
