Thread: First full shave with a straight without cutting myself

I have been shaving about once a week for about ten weeks now with a straight razor (a Thiers Issard 5/8"). Today was the first time I succeeded with a full face shave without cutting myself. The finish isn't the best and I am sure can be improved but at last I feel I am getting somewhere. I was more relaxed and confident than I have been previously, which I am sure helped.

Congratulations!! It only gets better from here. I would try to shave more than once a week with the straight if you can. It will help develop muscle memory and technique. I do understand that busy shedules sometimes don't allow the time necessary to do so.
