Default Don't shave in a hurry! They mean it.

Nothing major, just a scratch. I was shaving and my friend comes home with lunch from a local burger place. Real good food. So, I started to speed up a bit and nicked myself under the chin. I took a day off today so I wouldn't scrape the scratch open. While it wasn't quite enough to burn with aftershave, it would have been worse if I really sped things up. This was a warning for me. Other than that, my shaves are getting smoother! Gotta love that Proraso, and Pinaud! Tightens and smooths the skin.

Hurry is the natural enemy of a good shave. At the least it means a loss of pleasure; at the worst a loss of blood

yep, twice out of the three times that I've given myself a good cut, I was in a rush. Sometimes speed is such a mental thing.... I bet if you take your time, or if you rush, there is less than a 2-4 minute difference...

I tend to try a 5min or less straight shave sometimes and it is never a good idea. I always end up with razor burn, irritation or missed patches.

I just refuse to use a cart or my electric though. So a 5min 1 pass shave is required sometimes.

    SLOW IS SMOOTH

SMOOTH IS FAST! Only fast enough to enjoy a wonderful relaxing shave.

When I hurry I usually regret it.

If I have to hurry, I use my Merkur DE. Still a CCS, but without any blood letting....

    DS86,

Confucius once said "never shave in a hurry or while drunk or when hung-over, or all of the three"

    Have fun

    Best regards
