Site Question and a Post Question
I am not seeing any of my own posts or replies under New Posts. Have to look under the forum that the post was placed in. Is that how this site works, a little different from another forum I frequent. Or maybe just because I'm so new.
I have also been posting kind of a log of my beginning with straight razors, today will be day 4. Yesterday, as was suggested in a reply I just added to day 2 and found very little activity-one reply. Should I post a new thread each day or is this kind of a thread not really appropriate. Basically just posting to keep a record for myself and to see what good advice I receive.
I have been very happy with all the replies to date and am thoroughly enjoying this forum and my entrance into the straight razor world.
Thanks

Thanked: 1587As far as I am aware, yes this forum is set up that way - I've never seen my posts under the New Posts search. However, I think your posts do show up for a short while on the front page ticker...
I think it would be best to keep your log under one thread and just add a post for each day/entry. That way it is all in one place, easy to find and search and reference. Activity in threads can be a little sporadic sometimes, particularly when there doesn't seem to be too many issues or questions. And sometimes it just takes a while for people to come across a thread.

New Posts = Unread threads for your account, so unless there was a new post in the thread after yours, then the thread is still considered as read for you and won't show up.

Taipei Jake has a shave journal, i think he mainly posts in it himself, if the purpose is for your own records then I would just keep it as one thread, if you have specific questions maybe post a new thread, you can easily link your journal thread to any new threads you make and vice versa.

Thanks all, I did post a new one today with some questions. The log is really for myself to look back on later, so I'll just do one in my notes on the IPad and post questions/concerns as they come up. That could be almost daily
Reading and learning more everyday, thanks.

Quick Links, Today's Posts is what I look under. Anytime someone posts, if you hit this link it shows up.
At least that is the way I have been doing it...
