Thanked: 0That is just not true. So does the "classic edge".
I've got my TI beginner kit from them and they've been just fantastic from start to finish.
I'll probably be getting a razor from SRD next to be able to compare both and to try out Lynn's legendary honing skills but I've got to say, classic edge definitely rules!

Thanked: 7So the razor I bought last week. A Dovo 5/8 with tortoise scales. 142.00 at SDR. And 194.00 at classic edge. And it comes with a second honing from SDR.

Thanked: 0$194 is in Canadian dollars. It's actually $154 in US dollars.
And again, it does come with a second free honing.
I'm not saying that SDR is a bad place, I said that my next razor would come from them so I could compare both place. I was just mentioning that SDR was NOT the ONLY place offering a free second honing like you mentioned.
Happy that you've got a good service from them (for $12 less than you would have had on the classic edge).
Everyone seems to have only good things to say about SDR, which is why I want to try them too.

Ah but you forget SRD's price match guarantee.
Don't drink and shave!

i just started shaving a little over a week ago i didn't know about this site or srd site before i bought my first str8 razor i had heard that dovo was a good brand and that to really start you should be looking at $150 to $200. anyway after getting my razor i got to looking on youtube to see how to shave and there i found Lynn's videos and then checked out SRD i looked around for bit on different sites and SRD was by far the best site for any beginner to buy a str8 razor and know that it is really shave ready. their razor strop sets are great priced. i know now that the next razor i will be buying will be from SRD.
i also found that this site is an invaluable resource for us guys just starting into the str8 razor family. the advice and experience of it's members both beginners and veterans is great. i have learnt as much from beginners on here as i have from the veterans.

Thanked: 7I shaved with this razor again today. I had a nice close shave. The nick I wrote about is so small that it doesn't hurt my face. It doesn't go through the whole edge. But when I strop it on the leather you can see where it is. Drives me nuts but I'm going to wait to have it regained since I'm sure I will ding it again
