    Default Looking for a strop

    hey guys
i was looking at buying a strop where is a good place to buy from?
i want a decent strop but not a great one because i am beginner and will cut it to pieces i just nicked the one i have.
i'm afraid i'm going to just cut in in two sooner rather than later.
    any help would be great.

SRD or check some of the antique stores sometimes you can find decent vintage strops if you want to go that route.. really love my 3" black Latigo from SRD ... straight razor designs...

Depends on what you want, width-wise. There are the current Illinois razor strops, or you could cut yourself a thick piece of vegetable-tanned belting from McMaster-Carr for starters.

I'd go with an SRD one. You can purchase replacement leather for them cheaper than a new strop. Or if you go with their paddle strop, you can get replacement pads.

The modular paddle is excellent. OP youtube it. Especiallly great for beginners IMO. Else you can buy the replacement leathers alone and lay it on a table or book if you want to cut costs, not that I recommend doing this.

Hard to go wrong with SRD and the replacement parts available. Star shaving, Illinois razor Co, ruprazor frilly are also common options. A strop is something where a couple exextra dollars make a big difference IMO. Buy the best you can afford and go slow and you shouldn't have any problems

With how cheap the replacement leather is on the SRD strops, it's worth getting one of those (a nice strop for both beginners and advanced).
