Sometimes yes but most often its more of the same because the operator has not grown the wiser in using the equipment already owned. Often new acquisitions give more of the same results and sets up a cycle of purchasing more gear to fill the void. Most often the void is you and the only thing that will fill it is developing expertise. This just takes time and a bit of focus. Moving targets are much harder to hit.
    Thanks,
i did write the article based on my experience, and i really am not a collector of things, i can see how it is easy to keep seeing new, different things and wanting to try them, but ultimately they all get you to the same place if used properly.

Excellent Ed - sometimes us hoarders and over-thinkers need a reminder that when it comes down to it, we'd all be just as happy with a brush, some good wholesome shaving soap, a strop and a couple of straight razors, because for me, it's the delight in using a straight and the shaving ritual that makes it all worthwhile.

And of course some hones for razor maintenance, but we can discuss that later....

Great Ed, thanks for the read!

That's right tom, i keep that and my one other razor at home and use them about twice every 3 weeks, the other razor was a gift from phrank or i would only have 2.

The point was to show what i could happily use (and do for the most part) if i didn't have the other stuff I have .
