Default Is my str8 razor misaligned?

I have an old Wade and Butcher razor that someone has put custom scales on.
When I close the razor the blade rubs the inside of the scales and after its fully closed it will open itself back up a bit.
Correct me if i'm wrong but this is not a good thing. i though the blade was suppose to align in the middle of the scales.
My questions is will this hurt the blade? and do i need to have it repaired?

Guide your razor closed, you definitely don't want the edge hitting the scales (I'm sure you know that all ready). There are more experienced people than me on scale/alignment issues but I do recall a thread saying that tapping the pivot pin in the opposite direction of the mis alignment with a spoon may help correct the problem. I'm sure others will chime in.

In the ideal world, the blade should center dead nutz at the toe and wedge,is usually an easy fix.

The edge of the blade doesn't hit the scales but the side rubs the inside of the scales when closed it springs open till just the edge is inside the scales
