The real issue is finding a brush to match each razor.

2 or 3 is plenty really, yes you may cycle through a few finding out what you like, but you don't have to keep them all.

How many do you need? None! You can always just grow a beard. But if you are proficient with shaving and honing and stropping, I would say most got along with only one back in the day . Never seen John Wayne in an old western taking out his 7 day set! But seriously, 2 would be practical, so one can be at the honer while your shaving with one, but then that wouldn't be any fun , heck I,m working on a 7 day set of Bruno blades along with the other customs I have , so how many do I need? As many as I want !! Tc

IMHO, you always need more! I have to admit though, that I have a serious case of RAD. Bokers are my weakness.

Straights are like tattoos, you can't stop at 1.

I needed just one more, until I got my most recent razor last week. Now I need ... just one more ...

Part of the fun is trying out different makers, grinds, points, etc. As someone pointed out you can always resell them. I personally love finding an inexpensive no name razor that shaves like a dream. A lot of satisfaction in that.
