I use Turf Guard 4-Cycle SAE 10w-30...Johnsons is fine...Yes

I use it for that, mixed with a bit of glycerine and a favourite oil like patchouli or lavender.
Usually stops my razor rash. By itself I find it just fine and a whole lot cheaper than store-bought pre-shave oils.

Scrap the patchouli but keep the lavender. Or go straight up ambergris... we find it on the beach here. A bit of glycerine is a +

Welp it doesn't smell like Patchouli...actually it doesn't even smell. It looks like a piece of concrete sitting or rolling in the surf.
