Is the shaving cream, the technique, or the blade?

Read as many posts as you can, and watch as many videos as possible. Even the fast shaving videos can give you some views on technique; just take your time and keep experimenting. lots of great advice on this forum. I've been lathering then stropping then a second pass with the brush and it seems to helps the lather/soap do its job of preparing for shaving. Good Luck

Definitely ditch the canned goop and get some soap and a brush. I would also skip the oil and focus on propper beard prep before shaving. As you are only 2 shaves in your technique will be very ordinary and you will find that in a dozen shaves it will be starting to come together. Also starting with just the cheeks and finishing with a cart till you arr comfortable to do more is a good way to progress smoothly. Good luck

Even sharp razors can feel dull to a newbie, or that was the case in my experience. I also echo all the replies about making your own lather with a brush. Have fun.
