Thanked: 4Read as many posts as you can, and watch as many videos as possible. Even the fast shaving videos can give you some views on technique; just take your time and keep experimenting. lots of great advice on this forum. I've been lathering then stropping then a second pass with the brush and it seems to helps the lather/soap do its job of preparing for shaving. Good Luck

Definitely ditch the canned goop and get some soap and a brush. I would also skip the oil and focus on propper beard prep before shaving. As you are only 2 shaves in your technique will be very ordinary and you will find that in a dozen shaves it will be starting to come together. Also starting with just the cheeks and finishing with a cart till you arr comfortable to do more is a good way to progress smoothly. Good luck

Even sharp razors can feel dull to a newbie, or that was the case in my experience. I also echo all the replies about making your own lather with a brush. Have fun.
