    to repeat:
    Liquid, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes: if it falls under ANY one of these categories, the "Maximum 3.4 oz/ 100 ml Each" rule applies.

    You may be unsure as to whether to call it a cream or a liquid, but that does not matter one iota to the TSA.
    To them it's all the same.

    And 3.4 oz is the maximum per container.



    If there is no volume indicated on the container it is up to TSA personnel to decide whether they consider it within limits. As they see everyday many of the typical 3 oz plastic bottles that drugstores like Bartell Drugs or Wallgreens sell, they have a pretty good idea though and in all my years of flying for the airlines I never had any issues.



    But to avoid the issue altogether, I like to carry shaving sticks or soaps, as they fall under neither of above catergories.
