Thread: Is baby oil good for strop and razor blade

Just a question is baby oil is good to protect your razor blade and is it good to to oil the strop?? I'm getting low of neatsfoot oil and i was just wondering thank's

Yes for the razor,,, no for the strop,, IMO

Hirlau, are you saying mineral oil is good for strops?

No baby oil or mineral on a plain strop.

I rubbed the strop with my hand everyday to transfer body oil to the strop. When that isn't enough I use a bit of mink oil.

No,,, absolutely not,,, I prefer the plain mineral oil on my razors ,,, I don't use anything on my strops, just hand rub them , now & then.

The baby oil won't hurt a razor it's what I use. It is just mineral oil with fragrance. I would never ever use it on my strop!!!

I concur with above use the baby oil on razor but not the strop. I use mink oil very sparingly on my strop.

Could u put a few drops of baby oil in your lather bowel to help with the glid

baby oil works well on your razor if you can get over a smell. strops i just rub them with my hand.
