    on a personal note though, I spend a couple of bucks extra and go for the Thiers Issard beginner kit:

    Agreed completely, the Dovo Best Quality was a great razor to start with, for some reason, I'm not a fan of any of their other razor's, I'd definitely go TI as well.

    In my opinion if you want a new razor you would do much better buying a 5/8 ralf aust which has a much better grind and finish than the dovo special for practically the same price.

    Yes, that site looks crazy expensive to me.. Classifieds are a good deal. One poster in this thread is my favorite vendor...excellent hone and great classic razors..
