Anybody else using the two handed jedi move?
I have been compensating for my developing dexterity by using a two handed technique around the tricky moustache area. I use a rounded tip Dovo Best quality atm and to get into the tight corners and divit’s the two handed technique is working for me.
The skin in this area is stretched through facial acrobatics rather than my other hand anyway.

We'll have to come up with a name for this... My vote is the "lightsaber lop."

Thanked: 1587Well I've got a moustache, so am not qualified to comment on the efficacy of the "lightsaber lop" in this area. I've just got one question - is it difficult to wean yourself off the two handed stroke?

I've been using the two-handed stroke after reading about it here. (Xman, weren't you the pioneer with this?) Lately, I've been finding myself kind of naturally tapering off with its usage. Without thinking, I have been using a single-hand approach to the problem areas and then reverting back to two hands when I hit a snag that requires a bit more coordination.

Thanked: 1587OK - so not an issue? I guess it's just one of those personal choice things - whatever works

Thanked: 1Yea.
I use the two-handed technique under the nose. I come in from the sides: RH holds the blade as I move under the nose from the left; LH hold the blade as I move in from the right. I learned to do this the hard way after an early attempt at straight down gouged out a chunk of flesh and left what I suspect is a scar for life. Man, I'm ugly enough without a scar under my schnoz.
Carry on , guys.

When I go down and around my chin and ATG on my chin area I use a finger on the toe end of the razor for stabilization. Works great.

I've started using two hands myself on some approaches. I will already be using the off hand to stretch the skin, but sometimes, I'll use it to stabilize the end of the blade and help push slightly (somewhat like in whittling). Other times, especially when shaving my chin, I'll choke up on the blade and pivot my primary hand directly off the other hand for more control. The neat thing about straight-shaving is that you can experiment with different techniques in order to find those that work the best.
