My first razor isn't exactly a great beginners razor either, but while hunting for the best price on a Boker King Cutter, I found a place selling Boker Arbolitos for about 1/2 list price, so I went for it. 10 shaves and no blood yet, but I'm sure it's coming. I'm thinking about my third too, and may end up with another Boker, but I'm leaning toward an Edelweiss. As a beginner, I should probably have at least 1 razor that is suited for rookies.

Good luck with your Silver Steel. I'm anxious to hear what you think when you shave with it.
You will get used to any razor, it seems a bit pointless buying a "beginner's" razor as your second or third If you are getting along with what you have.
