Thanked: 0Advice on identifying original razor
Hi,
Greetings from Jakarta!
This is my first SR purchase. It's difficult to find Dovo products here.
I managed to find a seller online but I am not sure if he has original goods or not.
Can anyone please advice?
Here are the pictures
Thanks a lot.

Thanked: 634Looks real to me. I can't imagine anyone going thru the expense of creating counterfeit razors. Too costly.

Looks legit but I wouldn't put it past Chinese factories to create knock offs of anything that makes money. Hey lets just take these gold dollars 're do them a little stamp it dovo or whatever and charge half of what dovo does. And for those of you that think this can't be done I dont understand they already copy every product worth having what's a little razor

Thanked: 127Looks Original to me, have seen many of them (and similar ones) on different Flea Markets around Solingen and on german Ebay (maybe not visible for international Users). The Gold Wash and the Etching looks good and fine made, the Box is made of Plastic and one of the Later Boxes that had been made since the early 80s i guess. The Made in W. Germany is maybe an indicator for a pre 1991 Razor but it could be that Dovo used the W. Germany up to the mid 90s or longer. The Scales are just the simple Dovo Plastic Scales like they use even today on their standard Razor.
Its a good Razor, im sure after its honed well, you will be satisfied with it :-)

I hear what you're saying, and I think that the only reason guys worry about "fake" razors is because there are "fakes" of other items. But I do believe it is important to say that there are no fake razors, unless anyone has ever seen one, to help remove those doubts in the first place. In other words, the OP need never have worried, as far as I know, because there has never been a fake razor, as far as I know.
