That's good. I hate to see a bad outcome of anything like that nor do I wish bad things to happen to people & their straights or other type of razor's like a Kamisori!

I received the cheaper microscope from eBay just today. How do you guys deal with the reflection of the led lights on the blade? No matter what angle I try the interesting parts are burned out with too much light...

Try dimming the light on the microscope. Or bring up the background/ambient light in the room. I found that putting flat black cardboard behind the razor helps. See that Wirm has Black duct tape behind his. This will aid in absorbing light. Lastly focus on a point away from the edge and see if that helps with reflected light brightness.

Haha, it's a cheap generic Chinese one. Sold as 50x-500x but how would I know. It looks exactly the same as the 20x-200x model Either way, I can capture 11mm or 1.1mm in one screen. Now I need to play with the lighting and maybe use a SLR tripod...

I just plugged it in my Macbook Pro and took shots with Photo Booth app. Worked like a charm!

And now I can map my beard with 50-500x more accuracy!
