    Default Forgotten wonder

I had a look at the shaving section a Walmart today and decided a $5 brush was better than the hand lather I've been doing since my electric gave it up and I switched back to disposable 3 blades. I have to say wow. For a floppy limp knot I was pleasantly surprised at how much better my shave was. I prefer a deeper set stiffer bristle but as my budget is non existent that's not possible for now. Next on my list is a skuttle so I can keep my lather warm, then it will be time to find a strop and on to a razor! I can't wait to see where my shave could go!

Good job. No reason to jump n with both feet. Look at it as a blessing in disguise. You now have time to view all avenues and appreciate what your working towards.

I used $5-10 brushes for at least 20 years before finding SRP. They tended to last only 2-3 years before losing way too many hairs and didn't work that well anyway. Now, that brush and any soap are still better than canned goop but when you can, I suggest that you spring for a better brush.

A cheap brush and a good soap will improve your shave no matter what you choose to shave with. The better the gear and the higher your skill level and you will be amazed at how it all feels. No harm in starting small and growing slow.

If you want a scuttle take a small bowl and put it in a big bowl and fill the big bowl with hot water BINGO scuttle analogue. Real men cold shave any way.....
A good lather is half the shave.
