    Default Two year Anniversary

For you beginners just starting out. I have some advice about SRP. Today is my second anniversary of joining SRP and I'm still a self-declared beginner.
    1. Read it thoroughly starting in the library part Straight Razor Place Library - Straight Razor Place Library, before the forum.
    2. When you come to the forum, register, and include your location (city, state, country). You'll be surprised to find out there may be some experienced members nearby you who can really help you!
    3. Pay attention to the status of the members whose posts you are reading. Pay careful attention to the words of those identified as mentors.
    4. Soak up all you can about every aspect of shaving, then use your judgement, or PM a mentor to ask a question privately before you leap at a product, technique, etc.
    5. Go slowly; read & learn first, try second.
    6. Watch videos linked from the site.
    7. Buy only what you NEED at first and buy from a quality vendor that is recommended here, or from the classifieds on the site.
    8. Enjoy!!!!!

I have many new friends, have learned many new things about wet shaving, have been "gifted" by senior members, and have found a really fun way to shave every day using fine tools.

Most of all, keep reading and keep asking questions, but in the end your face is different than everyone else's so you're going to have to do some experimentation to find the combination of products and techniques that work for you.

Again, enjoy! I have, and I give a huge thanks to all who have helped me, some without ever knowing it!
    Just call me Harold
