Thanked: 0Bought my first razor...Thanks for the help and advice!
I just picked up this 5/8" J.A. Henckels 16 that appears to be in great condition. I also found an apparently unused Waterford Crystal badger brush at a local antique shop that was too beautiful to pass up for $80--especially since they aren't made anymore. Thanks again to everyone for the advice.

Thanked: 52DrElkaholic:
Great looking razor, J. A. Henckels usually make great shavers.
I don't know where you purchased this razor but many times even new razors don't come shave ready even though they are advertised as such by the vendor.
If this turns out to be the case with yours and it needs to be honed I would be happy to help you out with this, just pay for return shipping.
Looks like you are on your way to assembling a nice kit.
