    Default Newbie- Hello

    Hello all!
    I have been lurking through the posts and though I should register and make it official.
    I am not (yet) a collector. I am just tired of the poor job shavers do.
    I thought about the advancing shave technologies said to myself "There's got to be a beter way." A little internet searching and I am on the str8 bandwagon.
    I am in the process of aquiring my first blade. Your posts are an excellent resource for me.

    Thanks
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff. If you're new to straight razor shaving I highly recommend picking up a copy of Lynn Abrams' (the founder of SRP) DVD before you go shopping for razors, strops etc. It covers pretty much every aspect of straight razor ownership and use - it's pretty much regarded as a 'must have' around here!

    You can get it from Classicshaving or direct from Lynn himself.

    Welcome to the club.

    Be sure and check out www.thewellshavedgentleman.com and the starter sets he has. Tony Miller runs the place and he is a member here.

    Whatever you decide to do make sure that the razor is both honed and shave tested . New razors from Dovo or TI are not shave ready from the manufacturer.

    Welcome to the SRP!

    Welcome aboard, Jeff. Here are a few translations:
    RAD = Razor Acquisition Disorder
    BAD = Brush Acquisition Disorder
    SAD = Soap Acquisition Disorder
    CAD = Cats Are Delicious
