If you are up for the challenge to restore it then I wouldn't see it as a bad buy. I have brought many razors for less than pretty looking blades and with a little effort you have the same thing for less cost. Unpin it sand it back and polish it up. You will learn a lot real quick. Good luck with it

Nice size blade and I like the shape, it does appear to have a lot of rust, especially at the pivot. Nice price but in the future stay away from anything with rust like that you never know how deep the rust goes.

That razor will have to be unpinned to remove the rust, and even then you may still have some pitting. The good thing is there is very little rust near the edge.

Look in the library for Repairing and Restoring Straight Razors, on how best to do the repairs. It will be a good project, and can be done with just a few tools. Ask any questions in the Workshop forum.

They are good razors and can be made to shave well.

The reality is that you don't have to bother restoring it. As long as you can get it honed properly, you can shave with it for the rest of your life as it is--ugly but functional.
