Default 1 Year in the rear view mirror

One year ago I walked into Imperial Shave in Medina Oh and walk out with a brand new obsession. In the form of a Dova 5/8 1/2 hollow Astrale razor, 3" Latigo strop and Thater 4411 Fine Badger hair brush. Best purchase I ever made.
I used to hate shaving, but now it is the high light of my day. Since then I have aquired many different razors (Straights, DE and most recently SEs), strops and brushes, but the original kit still gets plenty of use. Preferrencs have shifted, obsessons waxed and waned (RAD, HAD, SAD ...) but the simple act of removing facial hair with fine tools, soaps and creams continues to provide daily joy.
I'm posting this for two reasons.
    1. if you're considering wet shaving, be it with a straight or safety razor. Go for it! Take your time, learn the skills and you will be greatly rewarded.
    2. I'm officially turning in my NewBe card.

    Cheers,

    Congratulations!

Glad this has worked out for you. A well groomed gent is always recognizable in a crowd of wanna-bes.
