How many straights do you have in Your Rotation?
How many straight razors do you have in your weekly, monthly rotation and where do your store them? Roll case, rust proof sock, draw, storage box , or a display? Also, after stropping to you lube the blade before putting them away.
Thanks....

I don't really have a rotation during the week I have a razor that I try to getvavfew months out of ,, just to see how long an edge will go with only a few strokes on a 12k as a maintenance routine , and then on the weekend I use my customs. Tc

I've got 30+ in my rotation which I store some in rolls in a closet, the rest are in racks I made hanging on bedroom wall. I don't oil them after use but I do use Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish on them when I first clean them up and so far have had pretty good luck not having any rust.

Thanked: 3228I have about 40 odd that I try and rotate through in some order. They are stored in a couple of converted silver ware boxes. No I don't oil them after stropping.

I have about two dozen SRs. I keep three Friodurs in a ceramic mug on a shelf in my bedroom which I pick from on most days. They rarely require refreshing. I examine my carbon steel razors about four X annually and wipe them with camellia oil periodically and after each use. The stainless Friodurs get wiped dry only.

About 45. All in a rack by Doughboy and a fabric pouch hanging underneath that I sewed. Just started a methodical rotation to identify those that need either a re-freshening or more major work. There are also a small number of razors waiting to be cleaned up and honed to see if I want to keep them.

3 straights in total, each stored on a wire stand. I strop after shaving and just put them back.

Thanked: 4828I am at work right now so my rotation is one. Sometimes when I go to work (21 days) I just bring one razor one soap and one brush. I have plenty of stuff at home and usually at home I pick a razor and use it for a week. Brushes and soaps are completely random at home. At home my razors are packed into plastic bins with gel packs and put in my safe, except for the ones that I am using. I will work on displays soon, very soon.

I'm down to 45 in rotation (recovering from RAD). I don't use the same razor twice in a row unless I'm running some sort of test. Each razor was treated with Tuf Glide when first honed and gets a drop on the pivot about every six months. I carefully clean and dry them after use and store in silicone treated cotton sleeves.
