I definitely do this. It's still amazing to me how smooth a shave I get with a SR.

Ha ha I do this too! I am glad I am not the only one...

Since I work mostly in my home office I can do it whenever I like - and I like it alot! When I'm somewhere else I do the thinking trick. Sometime around early afternoon I can feel the stubbles coming back and feel the next time when it's time for the next shave. While doing that waking up in the morning, I think about what tool, soap and AS to use. Sickning, isn't it?

Perhaps a tad more civil than...."hand-job"????!!!
Being a bit OCD myself.....I find the "face-feel" can be a "downer".....one day you've got a GREAT BBS shave....then....BANG!! The next one (or the one after....) is "off" ---
Stubble, missed spot (s), irritation, etc.
Nothing extreme, mind you.....but in reference to that BBS from (fill in the date/time.....)....it just "don't cut it" (pun intended...!!)!!!
I guess shaving, like a certain "12-Step" program.....is aimed at PROGRESS....NOT PERFECTION!!

Close shaves should SOOTHE ya....NOT SCARE ya!!

If I recall correctly I read a report sometime back that stated humans touch their faces, on the average, close to 2,000 time a day. What reasons were not made clear, but in our case it is to satisfy our egos that we got a damn fine and close shave that makes us feel slightly akin to the Gods.
