    Default Featherlight force

I found out the hard way that holding the straight razor and using very little force makes a huge difference between cutting or not cutting yourself. I hardly press on my SR and use my wrist to make the small cutting movement. Bit by bit. And my skin is gently peeled by the blade and not damaged that it gives an intense burning feeling.

A good way to think of shaving is to remove the lather and not the hair. The difference in pressure is slight, but makes a big difference.

Do whatever works for you but it is usually recommended that you move your arm, not your wrist. Wrist movement is usually in an arc rather than in a straight line and can lead to undesireable results.

I learned the other way but I am a bit shaky. A wrist motion has its uses. Use what works for the area of your face you are working upon.
