Just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking for a while and have read a lot of useful information here. I've used an electric razor since I was about 20 and I'm currently 42. For the last couple of months I've been using cartridge razors for a closer shave then started reading about straight razor shaving. Well needless to say I took the plunge and bought the beginning essentials to start. This morning I did my first straight shave. Granted it took me about a half hr with my wife asking me if everything is ok, but it was AWESOME. I did prob about 2 passes and was slow and nervous but I believe it is something I am going to really enjoy. Although right now I can still smell the badger hair on me. Thanks for all the great info and videos. Chris from Ct

And the badger smell will go away if you shampoo the brush a few times with your shampoo....or just wait a while. It wears off the brush after a while unless yours came from the wrong end of the badger

Just a suggestion, but as Raol reminded me, you ought to put your location in your public profile. You might be surprised at how many experienced people who may be nearby.
