    It has been discussed before. Essentially you can take an edge too far to be a comfortable shave. You can also take an edge too far and it breaks off. You can also make an edge that is weak and does not last very long. As long as you don't go past the optimum point it's all good. That is where the consistent edges of the very experienced stop. I think as we progress in our honing abilities we often go past the optimum and then learn where that is and move on from there.

    A razor can never be too sharp. However the edge can be damaged and ruined and often times when people say "too sharp" that's the issue.

    People sometimes refer to an edge being over honed but in reality you have to really try and over hone an edge. it's not that easy to do.

    Since your razor was honed by SRD, I don't think you have anything to worry about. You'll cut yourself more with a sharp razor that has dulled.
